Servers moustache was rad.
We had the pleasure and good fortune of being waited on by Sue. She took the time to take a picture (we're from out of state), converse, recommend beers, and go over the menu. Ask for her if possible. Not to mention, the beers were excellent and the food was even better. Don't be afraid of the trout pizza- roll the dice and order it. You won't regret it. Tastes like bacon. We also had shepherd's pie and bandito burger, grand slams all around. Thanks Gravel Bar!
This was a disappointment. We were on our way between Ennis and the Slide Inn and wanted an easy dinner. Ennis is a small town (pop. less than 900) so we did not expect to have much choice. This place would have been just fine except that the waiter was incredibly unpleasant and unhelpful. He mumbled, acted as though we had just rousted him out of bed, and did not listen and would not answer my questions regarding the food. As a result I ordered food that I did not enjoy and did not eat. On the other hand, my husband (although he agreed with me about the waiter) said it was the best hamburger he had in years! With just a little effort, he could have made sure we had a great experience. He was busy but we could see that and were not impatient. Too bad.
I'd give them no stars if it would let me post! This place was horrible. I would rather eat the dirt on the road then eat here ever again. We walked in with no acknowledgement of our arrival or direction on where we could sit. We waited around and had to ask to have a table cleared off for us. Someone in our group asked for lemons for her water, the waiter rolled his eyes and seemed put out by the request. He brought 8 people 3 lemon slices, when we asked for more he said "I thought I told you we were out of lemon." We ate our food, and waited about 40 minutes for our bill until I tried finding our waiter and told him we're ready to leave.
Trout pizza was incredible. I would go back just for that. Waygu burger was delicious, but a hair overdone. Our server was friendly and food came in a reasonable amount of time. This was just what we needed after backpacking up Indian Creek.
Server took the time to sit down beside us and explain the beer selection, and helped us make a choice based on our personal taste. Food was delicious! I had Catfish Poboy, and the girlfriend had the trout pizza & salad. They had a homemade dressing that was phenomenal, cilantro lime. 10/10 would cilantro lime again.
